What is Reiki?
Reiki is a non-invasive, natural and safe method of healing and self-improvement that awakens, increases and balances life force energy (ki), restoring the body’s natural ability to restore and heal.
It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and issue and always creates a beneficial effect. Reiki also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery. Reiki is used to relieve pain, eliminate toxins from the body, still the mind, calm emotions, promote focus, and strengthen the immune system.
Reiki is not affiliated with any religious system. Reiki has no dogma, and there is nothing you must believe in order to receive benefits from Reiki. In fact, Reiki is not dependent on belief at all and is effective whether you believe in it or not.
Though Reiki is not a religion, it is still important to live and act in a way that honors the life force in yourself, others and all living things. Mikao Usui, founder of the Reiki System of natural healing, recommended that one practice certain simple ethical and culturally universal ideals to promote peace and harmony.
How do you “get” Reiki?
You will either meet your Reiki practitioner at their office, or your home, or if receiving a long distance treatment, a quiet setting where you are not disturbed is best.
Other Reiki treatment settings include hospitals, hospice centers, nursing homes, or other healthcare settings, and may have a shorter session (15 – 30 minutes), while some private practitioners give 90 minute sessions. A standard sessions 45 – 60 minutes.
A complete Reiki session consists of light, non-invasive touch with the practitioner’s hands placed and held on a series of locations from the head to foot.
Eeach Reiki treatment is automatically customized to the immediate need of a particular recipient, as Reiki energy in the practitioner’s hands responds to the recipient’s need for balance at that particular time.
Reiki is optimally given in a full treatment format but can also be administered in abbreviated treatments to a specific area or areas of the body. In urgent situations, even moments of Reiki touch can be soothing.

I’ve had the honor and benefit of receiving Reiki from Scheherazade. The results were amazing and have inspired me to continue the utilization of this healing modality for myself and others. Thank you for being a channel through which healing blessings flow. ALR, Detroit
I have been receiving Reiki treatments for three months now for my carpal tunnel syndrome. I’m an emergency dispatch operator, and typing up to 16 hours a day, is normal for me. I haven’t used my brace since the first treatment, and I don’t experience any of the pain or popping that I did before Reiki, even using the brace. Thanks Scheherazade. I’m sold! – A. Hutcherson
